The first seed of this Torah empire was planted in 1995, with the establishment of a kollel in Beit Shemesh. The urgent need for a quality
makom Torah for the young avreichim who had recently moved to the city encouraged the Rosh Yeshivah, Rav Shlomo Ber Sorotzkin shlita, to launch the kollel.
Just a few months before the kollel’s founding, HaRav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach zt”l passed away. His name was chosen to grace the Kollel, in his memory and liluy nishmaso.
Since then, the name “Ateres Shlomo” has adorned all the batei medrash of the Torah empire.
