When the Lithuanian government repatriated the Telshe yeshivah building last year, it also transferred papers and manuscripts that had been preserved in the Lithuanian archives for more than a century. In addition, the National Museum of Lithuania gave Yeshivas Ateres Shlomo, the continuation of Telshe, documents, sefarim, pictures and manuscripts—vestiges of the glory of Telshe that survived the annihilation.
These documents are mute witnesses to the glorious Torah life that existed in the city before it was obliterated by the Nazis on the 20th of Tammuz, eighty-three years ago. They provide rare glimpses into the yeshivah world of over 100 years ago, the lives of the great Telshers and the yeshivah world back then. Rare documents include: A new picture of Rav Avraham Yitzchak Hy”d; the talmid that left the yeshivah / a talmid and his prize/Exclusive.
